Sarah's Family Daycare

Where It All Starts With Nurturing Relationships

Summer Employment Opportunity 2016

You are invited to apply to be a Child Care Assistant in an emotionally warm and caring home environment for young children. You will have the opportunity to care for children in an environment based on nurturing relationships, where all the children know that they belong and are enjoyed.

The play-based program is filled with a range of experiences to support children’s learning and development, including forest play, outdoor play, play with open-ended materials, Kindermusik, art materials and more.

For the older children, the program includes an emergent and hopefully, even a collaborative approach to pretend and constructive play, using the approach from Tools of the Mind.

The program also focuses on supporting self-regulation skills and in particular facilitates the development of social problem-solving skills.

There will also be an opportunity to learn about the attachment-based development approach to help children reach their full potential based on the work of Dr. Gordon Neufeld. Approaches are also informed by Waldorf, Lifeways North America, ELECT, How Learning Happens and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
